What is coaching?
Coaching is the collaborative relationship designed to facilitate higher-level performance in an individual or a team. Coaching is solution or goal orientated. Its focus is to draw upon the resources, behaviors, skills and potential of the individual or team coached. Coaching is generative rather than remedial which separates it from therapy and counseling.
What is Neuro-Semantics?
Neuro-Semantics refers to the fact that when we create meaning in our minds (semantic), those meanings become incorporated in our bodies and nervous systems (neurology). When something means something to us we feel it in our bodies. We experience these meanings as our “emotions”. Mentally, we think about these meanings as our values, ideas, beliefs, understandings, paradigms, mental models, frames, etc.
Neuro-Semantics is a model that describes how we make meaning through classifying, associating and evaluating what we experience. It describes how we live in a Matrix of Frames of Meanings at many levels.
What is NLP?
NLP is a communication model about how we process information. We run our own brain by using the languages of the mind, the languages that we use to create our cinemas that we play out on the theatre of our mind. These are the sights (visual), sounds (auditory) and sensations (kinesthetic), smells (olfactory) and tastes (gustatory) senses. We make sense of things with our internal sense. We internally process information and represent such in our ìMoviemindî. The linguistics of NLP begins with the sensory ìlanguagesî of the mind and then moves to meta-representation system that we call language.
How does Meta-Coaching differ from other types of coaching?
A Meta-Coach will first and foremost be able to recognize, detect and effectively address the processes, structures, mind-sets, frames, beliefs etc of the person learning to become a master in a given area whether business, leadership, management, relativity, relationship, persuasion etc. The coach will address the things that get in the way of that excellence (i.e. lack of clarity, indecision, excuses etc.). This means the ability to take a meta position to the mental-emotional matrices of a personís experience.
After recognition of the structure of experience and being able to model and profile the experience, the Meta-Coach will be able to see the neuro-semantic system of mind-body-emotion within relationships, contexts, etc as a system. This means systemic thinking about the human mind-body system within yet a higher system (business, culture, family, government, politics, economics, etc.) and within which yet a lower systems are embedded (thinking, valuing, believing, feeling, remembering, imagining, etc).
